Is your Inbound Marketing really connecting? In this video, Brian Solis points out what may not yet be obvious to many who are still “excited about the number of followers” they have on Twitter instead of “actually connecting to people uniquely”.
“We’re not connected as much by relationships as we think; we’re connected by ideas. We’re connected by the things we’re passionate about.”

I like the idea that it is really ideas thats connecting us and exploring the organic evolution of ideas as they exopand to accommodate new technology, new questions, new solutions and unique applications is what really a compelling part of the social web for me.
Unfortunately it feels like sometimes things are just still too overwhelming and constantly changing. I see it leading to a different type of cynicism and a different kind of auto immunity to the things we are actually seeking. if its not new enough, productive enough or the context isnt inspiring or compelling enough at that exact moment we find it on the web, we may just forget or never benefit from the new learning or new accomplishment.
Welcome Bryan,
The Internet is overwhelming now, but eventually earh user will find their own combination of sites they regularly visit. That is the challenge for each blogger, business or Social Network – to capture the attention of specific groups of people.
I believe there will be distinctly separate groups of people online based on what types of sites they decide to frequent. I already see that in blogging circles and believe that as Social Networks arise that better fit these distinct groups it will be less overwhelming and more comfortable.
