Inbound Marketing UK
Inbound marketing means getting found by customers. Since that basic definition appeared in a MurrayNewlands.com Inbound Marketing UK article last year, it hasn’t changed. What has changed, though, is how inbound marketing UK or anywhere else happens.
Inbound Marketing UK
As Murray advocated, it’s still important to have a “hub” for your industry that attracts visitors naturally through the search engines, through the blogosphere, and through the social media sites. But how has the interaction between those pieces changed? To think about inbound marketing has changed, I’ll revisit the same two diagrams from Brian Halligan at Hubspot.
Have the components changed? Not really, but their emphasis has.

Content: It’s still important, but even more important is the conversation about that content.
SEO: Still critical, but with Facebook becoming a larger traffic source for major web portals in the past week, it’s now equally, if not more, important to focus on social media optimizaion.
Social Media: The other two ven pieces point to this: SMO- Social Media Optimization. It’s even newer and fresher than SEO or SEM. What we know for sure, though, is that social media conversations will present the newest and perhaps the most fruitful field for anyone looking to create leads through inbound marketing on social media sites. And then, of course, there’s Google Buzz now.
In all of these areas, though, Inbound marketing UK specific will require getting local people to start having conversations about your, also, local business, shop or brand. If you are in London and want people to learn about your business, conversations identified with London are suddenly as important as searches for London businesses.
Inbound Marketing UK and the Importance of Social Media Networking

As this chart shows, outbound marketing is more like a sledgehammer to the consumer- inbound marketing is more like a magnet. What’s not on there under Inbound Marketing is the importance of social media marketing, especially to Inbound Marketing UK. As social media rises in prominence and traffic generation, localized conversation on social media networks will rise in importance.
It’s already there- are you?
